The following verses were thrown into the entry of a
gentleman's house in this city, on Wednesday night last;
upon a supposition that he was refused admittance into the
Chamber of Commerce.
The White Balls and Black Balls were late in an uproar,
'Twas who should be in, and who should be out;
The Whites were so lucky, they brought in just four,
And the brave Blacks put three Whigs in the rout.
Sing tantarara, brave Black Balls forever,
To keep out the Whigs, 'twas mightily clever.
. . . [4 more verses with refrain]
